Billboard Advertising Cost In India: 2026 Pricing Guide By City And Format

By John Doe ·

Billboard pricing in India varies more than most first-time advertisers expect, largely on city tier, site quality and format, so it's worth knowing the general ranges before a media plan gets built.

In prime metro locations, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, standard hoarding sites typically run ₹2 lakh to ₹8 lakh a month, and genuinely iconic locations like Marine Drive or a major sea-link approach can push past ₹12 lakh a month.

Tier-2 cities, including Ahmedabad, Pune and Lucknow, sit in a much more accessible ₹55,000 to ₹2.5 lakh a month range for standard hoardings on well-trafficked roads, which is where most regional and mid-sized brands find their entry point into outdoor.

Highway stretches and tier-3 towns bring costs down further, generally ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 a month, and often deliver strong reach per rupee for brands targeting a specific corridor rather than a whole city.

Format changes the number too. Backlit hoardings usually command a 20 to 40 percent premium over an equivalent non-lit site for the extended visibility hours, and digital or DOOH sites carry a 30 to 60 percent premium over static, in exchange for the ability to rotate creative.

Rates also move with the calendar. Demand, and pricing, climbs from October through December, during IPL season, and around state elections, so booking early is usually the difference between getting the site you want and settling for what's left.

Because availability shifts constantly, published rate cards only tell part of the story. Working with a planning team that tracks live site inventory, like ours, usually gets a better site-to-budget outcome than pricing a campaign off a list alone.
